It’s a useful first stop if you like a bit of everything. Give the record bins some time, then work your way through the clothes and housewares.

Notes for the rummage
The useful part of buying old things is knowing what to check.
Check the actual vinyl, not just the sleeve. Look for warps and scratches under a light, and ask whether you can listen if condition matters. Bring your want list, but leave room for a record you’ve never heard of.
Browse Beachcomber’s mix of records & vintageVintage size labels don’t tell the whole story. A few measurements from something you already wear help. Check underarms, collars, zippers, and hems; decide which repairs you’re happy to take on.
The underside of a bowl, lamp, or piece of furniture can tell you more than the front. Look for maker’s marks, old repairs, chips, and missing parts. Ask what has been tested before taking home old electronics.

You don’t need to visit every shop in one go. Start on the boulevard, take a turn onto Main Street or Beach Street, and head down toward the Embarcadero when you’re ready for a break.

Browse Vinyl Isle, Achievement House, and Foxy’s, then head down to Beachcomber, Treasures, Castaways, and Divers.
Tara Lee’s is farther down the boulevard. Detour to Grandma’s on Main or ThrifTide on Beach Street before a break by the bay.
Try The Good Flea and Nifty Thrifty on Quintana Road, or make a separate trip to the antique shops on North Main and Atascadero Road.
The walking link runs from Vinyl Isle to Tara Lee’s, via Foxy’s, Beachcomber, and Divers. Quintana Road and the north-side shops are separate trips. Check current hours before setting off.
